
Dear Colleagues and Guests,
It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to participate in the
2nd Balkan Congress of Nuclear Medicine, that has been organized by
the Serbian Society of Nuclear Medicine and the Section of Nuclear
Medicine of Serbian Medical Society. The Congress will take place in
Belgrade, on 8-12 May, 2013, under the auspices of the European
Association of Nuclear Medicine and the Serbian Ministry of Health. It
will be joined together with the domestic congress of nuclear medicine,
which will coincide with the
55th anniversary of existence of this medical field in Serbia.
The scientific programme of Congress will cover varuious aspects of general nuclear medicine and PET in clinical practice and research. Twenty six highly distinguished experts from Europe and the U.S.A. will deliver their lectures on the recent advances and on future trends in the field. The oral sessions will be complemented with posters. Large turn out of the companies producing medical equipment, radiopharmaceuticals and other products of interest to nuclear medicine is also expected.
Serbian capital Belgrade, the host of the Congress, lies on the main land route crossing from Central Europe to the Balkans, at the confluence of the Sava and the Danube rivers. It is considered to be among the oldest European cities, with a rich history dating back 7,000 years. Contemporary Belgrade is home to almost 2 million inhabitants.
Guests from abroad will be welcomed by Belgrade great charm, eclectic spirit and hospitable citizens. Therefore, I wish you a pleasant stay in our city, and much success at the Congress.
